International Advisory Board

Divider Pacific Star’s International Advisory Board (IAB) serves as a compass to guide the Group’s strategic vision and direction.

Comprising international industry veterans with unparalleled experience in real estate and investment, the IAB is a powerhouse from which we can glean gems of wisdom on the global economic environment and real estate industry, future trends and sound corporate governance.

The Board also helps us shape our vision of becoming an employer of choice by advising on human resource best practices.

Dr Eckart John von Freyend
Dr John von Freyend was CEO of IVG Immobilien AG until 30 June 2006 when he became a member of its Supervisory Board. He is currently also Chairman of the new German Property Federation, the German Corporate Governance Initiative and the Walter-Raymond Foundation. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has been honoured with the ULI-Germany leadership Award 2005.


Mr Michael Tay
Mr Tay initiated the Russia-Singapore Business Forum in 2006 when he was Singapores Ambassador to Russia, a position he held from 2003 to 2008. Today, he continues to be the Executive Director of the RSBF, where he has been instrumental in contributing to its success, transforming it from a purely bilateral forum into a global platform involving businesses from more than 40 countries and focusing on emerging and frontier markets. In 2009, he returned to Singapore to assume the post of Executive Director of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) where he promoted free trade, economic integration and business linkages within Asia-Pacific. In 2011, Mr Tay was the first Singaporean to be awarded the prestigious Pushkin Medal by the Russian President for his contribution to the world of Russian culture.


Mr Philippe Damas
Mr Philippe Damas was formerly the CEO of ING Retail Banking Asia, ING Private Banking and ING Trust. As Head of Asia, he spearheaded the strategic acquisition of a 20% share in Bank of Beijing and a 30% share in TMB in Bangkok. As CEO of ING Private Banking, he was instrumental in rapidly growing the private banking business to over 55 billion in AUM and eventually led the sale of Private Banking Asia to OCBC and Private Banking Switzerland to Julius Baer, which generated a total of $2 billion for the ING Group. In Asia, the business was rated among the top five providers of private banking services in a poll by Asiamoney. Prior to this, Mr Damas was the CEO of ING UK. He joined ING in 1999 after 20 years with JP Morgan, where he was last Head of Asset Management and Private Banking in Asia.


Mr Rajan Menon
Mr Rajan Menon was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1973 and is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales. Mr Menon was conferred the Public Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat, PBM) by the President of the Republic of Singapore. His career in Singapore comprised appointments with the Government of Singapore as a Deputy Public Prosecutor & State Counsel with the Attorney Generals Chambers and the Senior Deputy Registrar of Land Titles & Deeds. He is currently in private practice at RHT LLP.
