“The Corporate Soul & I Care attitude” @ Pacific Star -
Reaching out to Thien Nhan
“Soul & I Care” is a heartwarming project initiated by Pacific Star in July 2008 to show how much can be done with limited resources and a generous measure of humanity. Pacific Star is committed to aid those in need by various forms of volunteer endeavours, fundraising and partnerships with nonprofit organizations. We believe in supporting philanthropies and volunteer endeavours that better the lives of the unfortunate.
On 28 July 2008, Pacific Star raised SGD13,404 amongst staff to Thien Nhan, also known as the ‘Miracle Baby” to fund his trip and medical costs. Thien Nhan is a bright, feisty and cheerful 2 year old boy who was abandoned at birth in Central Vietnam and had lost one of his limb and genitals at the tender age when he was mauled by a wildlife animal. He was adopted by a Vietnamese family in Hanoi, and is now seeking sponsors to help pay for his medical care, rehabilitation and education.
Following a very successful trip to the US for urethral surgery and prosthetic care, Thien Nhan and his parents have now returned to Hanoi.
We’ll like to thank all those who have graciously supported and contributed towards Thien Nhan’s medical cost. |

Our focus on giving back to society -- MiLK Foundation
At Pacific Star, we view every opportunity to improve the lives of impoverished or disadvantaged children as a mission. Our ongoing efforts are focused on a ‘better life for children’ as a part of our CSR drive.
The MiLK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund remains our adopted charity since its inception in 2004. The MiLK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund embodies Pacific Star’s CRS philosophy of nurturing the next generation by providing equal opportunities for all.
The charity was set up to reach out and help disadvantaged Asian children who come from troubled or impoverished communities, suffer from chronic illnesses or / are physical challenged. MiLK supports them in their education, care and guidance, vocational and livelihood development, medical treatment and other special needs so as to help them break out of the disadvantaged circumstances they were born into.
Pacific Star is happy to have assisted in raising SGD1 million by way of charity auctions and events involving senior management.
